~~She Blinded Me With Science~~
|
|
|
"Blinding me with
science -
science!"
"Science!"
Mm mm mmm
I can hear machinery
"Blinding me with science - science!"
"Science!" "Sci-sci-science!"
It's poetry in motion
And now she's making love to me
The spheres're in commotion
The elements in harmony
She blinded me with science
"She blinded me with science!"
And hit me with technology
Hup hup hup hup
"Science!"
"Good heavens Miss Sakamoto - you're beautiful!"
Hey, I don't believe it!
There she goes again!
She's tidied up, and I can't find anything!
All my tubes and wires and careful notes
Antiquated notions

~~Johnny B. Goode~~
|
|
|
Maybe someday you will be a man
And you will be the leader of a rock 'n' roll band
Many people comin' from miles around
To hear you play your music 'til the sun goes down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
Saying Johnny B. Goode gonna play tonight
Deep down in Louisiana, down in New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood an old cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play guitar so hard it'd ring your bell
Go go
Go Johnny, go go go
Go Johnny, go go go
Go Johnny, go go go
Oh, Johnny B. Goode

Teamwork!
Ooh, I need a little teamwork, yeah
Teamwork, yeah
(???, ???, ???)
Teamwork!
Ooh, and with a little teamwork!
Got to have a little teamwork!
Always use a little teamwork!
And we need a little...
Ooh, I like-a what you do to me!
Ooh, what's good for you is good for me!
We're together like we got to be!
We need each other, that's all we need!
Caught in the heat, caught in the chill
Whatcha don't have, honey I will!
Teamwork!
Do it with a little teamwork!
Got to have a little teamwork!
Always use a little teamwork, yeah!
Teamwork, yeah!
Oh yeah!
Teamwork, yeah!
Teamwork, yeah!
Teamwork, yeah!....

There's such an urgency
in
everything I need from you
I've every reason to believe there's still a man
There's still a man, there's still a man...
Just do it, just do it
Just do it
J-j-just do it
Just do it
Just go for it, just go!
Just go for it, just go!
Just go for it
All I need, all I need
Go go g-g-go go g-go go go go
Go go g-g-go go g-go go go go
Just do it, just do it
Go go go!
Go! Go go go!
Go go!
Go! Go go go!
There's such an urgency in everything I need from you
Just do it
D-d-do it, d-d-do it...
All I need
And all I need
'Cause all I want 'n' all I need
You're not, you're n-n-not, you're n-n-not...
You're not goin' anywhere
Just do it
Just do it
Just go!
Go go g-g-go go g-go go go go
Go go g-g-go go g-go go go go {repeats}
Just do it
Just just just
Go go go!

Zap me with your misfit science
Shoot me full of ecstasy
I need a hit from this excitement
In my wildest fantasy
Ice cool,
Electric and alive
You fool,
Love you for your mind
I can feel it!
Feels like science, straight from my heart
Ooh, like science, straight from the heart
Oooh
Ooh-ooh, feels like science, straight from my heart
Class assignment, oh-no-ohohohoh
Science is over
Class dismissed! Class dismissed!!

Man oh man- how I have pined to get a hold on that "go g-g-go go g-go go go go" song. All this time- it was Kim Wilde and I had no clue. So just wanted thank-you, man. This little encomium space you've created for the Misfits deserves many a' praise.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!

Feels like science, straight from my heart!
Aw, thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's comments like yours that make me so happy I was able to make this site for the show. Any actual work is far outweighed by the fun and joy!
The Kim Wilde song is possibly a mix created for the episode, to better match the actions in the scenes. I haven't yet found a release of it that sounds identical.
Thanks for this whole site ThirdBass, i too have been looking for that same song as anon and it's nice to finally find it.
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Kim Wilde song, so being able to help others find it is awesome.
Ok. Here's one for you.
ReplyDeleteTeamwork is by David Lasley. I think the version in the pilot was a cover version but was a great version. And the original can be found on the "Body Rock" soundtrack - or YouTube.
Regards,
Billy Hayes
Thank you so much for that info, Billy! I went and listened to Lasley's original - it was cool. It's awesome to finally know more about the song, like the composer. I'll happily add the new info to the page.
ReplyDeleteHey trying to find the song "Feels like science" but I can't seem to find it! Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteI've got an mp3 ripped from the TV hosted here:
Deletehttp://sites.google.com/site/scienceofmisfits/files/Theme-End.mp3
Enjoy! :)
In the end credits song I think the line is "and if hit, well this excitement"
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for uploading these. Finally got to rewatch these since the original airdates. Amazing how certainly lines and moments came right back to me. Stetmeyer's "poison gas!" freak out being one of them. Delightful.
Someone also suggested 'I need a hit, with this excitement' - what do you think?
DeleteThat's awesome you're getting to relive them :) Stetmeyer was always a memorable element for me too, would quote him any chance I got.
Thank you so much for providing this information and this site!
ReplyDeleteIt's very sad to think that there will never be a soundtrack release for this series, and that this series may never see the light of a North American DVD release where the music might be more easily extracted via the audio tracks...every source I've found for Second Chance just never sounds quite right...lacks that remix touch that I know and love.
But the information you've provided has helped bring me a step closer to being able to hear the music (or close enough to it) to a show that I was attracted to at a very early age.
Thank you again!
You're welcome, John. Thank you for the nice comments!
DeleteI know, I and so many other fans would adore a soundtrack! I think the exact same thing about the Kim Wilde song.
Have you gone to the playlist of some of these tracks on Spotify? It's linked on the main music page here: http://scienceofmisfits.blogspot.com/2009/10/music.html
(Spotify is free to use, and is quite easy to join if you have a Facebook account.)
So glad that these pages and info are continuing to help out MoS fans! :)
End credits are in a Magazines & newspapers
DeleteNice playlist, and I found that the Dance Remix and the USA Remix were likely used. Found these in the 2 CD release from Kim Wilde called Teases and Dares (like 5-7 different versions of the same song lol).
ReplyDeleteTy again :-D
When this originally came out I had taped on my betamax, but loved the music so much that I had to use a cassette recorder and hold it up to the tv to get it recorded. What you have presented here is like a bible of information that I have been looking for. A thousand thank you’s for the site, information and music.
ReplyDeleteHi Jack, welcome!
DeleteThat's an awesome level of adoration! Takes me right back to the 80's when that was how it had to be done when you loved something so much and you didn't want to be without it when the live broadcast went away :)
You're very welcome for the site, info, and music - I know how it feels to not find anything substantial about MoS online, so I'm always thrilled when I can fix that for a fan :D Remember too, if you find anything overlooked, incorrect, or missing, feel free to send me the information and I'll be more than happy to include/correct it :)
